Welcome to git.aethercosmology.com
This is the Aether Cosmology git server. It works like GitHub: repos, a web file browser, and git over HTTPS or SSH. Everything from the old server was carried over and the web address is unchanged.
Where the data is
| Repo | What it is |
|---|---|
| toby/cable-latency-survey | Deep-sea cable latency survey. Current data file: cable_latency_survey_data_v2.json (39.9 MB) |
| toby/zotero-db | Toby's Zotero library (9.5 GB) |
| alan/zotero | Alan's Zotero library (7.5 GB) |
Reading and downloading
All repos are public. No account is needed to browse, download a single file (the download button on any file page), or clone:
git clone https://git.aethercosmology.com/toby/cable-latency-survey.git
For the two big Zotero repos, add --depth 1 to skip history and pull far less.
Your account
Accounts exist for toby, alan and piezo. Self-signup is off. Toby sends your starting password; you will be asked to change it at first login at https://git.aethercosmology.com/user/login. Set your real email under Settings so password resets reach you.
Pushing
Push to your own repos, or to any repo where Toby has added you as a collaborator.
- HTTPS: push normally; git asks for your username and password.
- SSH: the port is 2223, not 22. Add your public key under Settings, SSH / GPG Keys, then use this URL form:
ssh://git@git.aethercosmology.com:2223/toby/cable-latency-survey.git
The short git@git.aethercosmology.com:owner/repo.git form will not work because it uses port 22.
Questions
Toby is the admin: collaborator access, new repos, password resets.
